At one point I was thinking about doing a piece for the 80s spot that bracketed the decade with George Trow's "In The Context of No-Context" with Wallace's "E Unibus Pluram." But then I double-checked the date and realized that the Wallace essay appeared a few years later than I'd originally thought. Shrug.

What happened to the excellent post I thought I saw this morning?
yeah i deleted it....
i thought i had no right to pontificate on such matters...
That's a shame. Was it on David Foster Wallace? Google suggests so.
There's definitely a lot to say about him. I was thinking about doing something for the '90s blog, but then lots of the essays and stories are '00s.
Any chance of getting the post back up? Maybe we could get a good cross-blog discussion going ...

Confession:
I've never read any books by DFW because they looked too long. No more than articles here and there.
@ Alex...well it wasn't really about Wallace as such, more about depression...
actually i'm not really a wallace fan....tho i spent the 90s reading American literature esp experimental and "post-modern" stuff...
perhaps i'd burned out by the time i got to Walllace...
Gents!
can we agree that the 90s blog should be 90's onward, so that we can incorporate stuff from the 00s too...
a fourth blog would seem to spreading ourselves a little too thin...
Good idea. Take out the subheading and call it: "End of History".
