"Stagnant, lifeless water becomes brackish and muddy, while flowing, singing water remains pure and limpid. Similarly the soul of a sedentary man is a vessel in which endlessly ruminated grievances ferment. From the soul of the traveler pours a pure stream of new ideas and unforseen actions."

So, er, does that mean you're gonna leave your house more often then?!

Ha! Actually, I'm off to Spain (again). I only leave se10 to get on a plane.

That rhymes, by the way.Clearly the fermentation caused by my endlessly ruminated grievances has gone straight to my head.

"Stagnant, lifeless water becomes brackish and muddy, while beer, wine and whiskey remain pure and limpid. Similarly the soul of a recovering alcoholic is a vessel in which endlessly ruminated grievances ferment. From the soul of the drunk a pure stream of new ideas and unforseen actions floweth."

I guess the worst thing about losing your parodic employee, who suddenly decides to pursue some Victorian New Sobriety conceit, is that you have placed so much confidence in him; having fired so many sober but dull staff members before him, you decide to take that crucial step and trust his parodic talent. ''Hire the drunken fool'', you tell yourself. Once this enormous confidence is betrayed in a single ''sobering'' act, it feels like a small death. It is truly an unpleasant feeling. And though there is this pressing desire to punish the double-crossing son of a bitch, a part of you keeps hoping that he will come back.
