But of course - always.

Tremendous guitarist, amongst other things. Among folkies, Vincent Black Lightning holds a position similar to that of Sweet Child O' Mine among rock guitarists as one of the tunes you have to master if you want the respect of your peers.

See also: Cathal Coughlan's cover of The Great Valerio, on Bertie's Brochures.

Good man, Dominic. I'm a big R.T fan. Especially Mock Tudor and Rumour and Sigh (but also all the stuff with Linda of course esp, "Bright Lights...") don't imagine he's getting much love among the hiperati, but at his best he's kind of peerless, really. Don't know the cover, never really listened to either Microdisney or Fatima Mansions...I should, I suspect.

would it also be right of me to suggets that there's a bit of Loop influence filtering through on Haintology? It's very, very good by the way....properly good.

I heard about five minutes of Loop on the TV once, about 15 years ago - maybe it was Snub TV, maybe even The Chart Show - and was intrigued, but have never heard anything of them since. When mentioned at all, they tend to get sucked up into shoegazer, although I get the impression they were closer to Swans (say) than Ride.

Amazingly, there's a Loop video on YouTube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2UvCt0hb6gU - sounds quite a bit like Primal Scream's Xtrmntr to me.

I'm a big fan of Flying Saucer Attack, if that helps...
