Two quick music-related asides before I return with the inevitable lauditory comments on K-Punk’s piece on Peace and writing in general.

Firstly, I submit to you that the Hudson Mohawk EP makes explicit the overlap between Wonky and the New Wired America of Dan Deacon, Animal Collective’s “Meriweather” etc.

Secondly I submit to you that Nadja’s version of “Only Shallow” pisses on the original AND I haven’t even heard it on vinyl!

Haven't heard that Nadja track but you are welcome to email me the MP3. What's interesting here is that it increasingly seems like metalheads comprise the only demographic that truly appreciates the genius of MBV right now.

Have you heard the remasters yet? "Isn't Anything" sounds sooo much better!
